The woman’s brother has accused her live-in-partner of murder.
A dead body of a 30-year-old woman found lying on the roadside in the PGI area of Lucknow on Friday.
The woman was 30-year-old and used to work as a property dealer. She was allegedly in a live-in relationship and earlier it was believed that she is injured and unconscious.
However, after the police team was alerted about the lady by the local residents, she was taken to the Apex Trauma Centre in Vrindavan Yojana where she was declared dead by the doctors, according to The Times Of India.
The woman’s dead body was lying on the roadside close to her housing society and the local residents had identified her as Geeta Sharma.
Geeta brother Lalchand filed a complaint at SGPGI Police Station against her live-in partner Girija Shankar accusing the latter of murder.
Additional DCP, east zone, Pankaj Singh said that according to the postmortem report there were multiple injuries on her body which led to her death.
He added that it is being investigated whether these injuries were accidental or if she was brutally murdered.
According to the police, Geeta Sharma was from Rae Bareli and used to live in a housing society in the PGI area.
Lalchand said that he was misled by Girija who had said to him that his sister had met with an accident and was is hospital.
He added that Geeta had taken an insurance policy worth Rs 1 crore and Girija Shankar was the nominee which may have led to her death.
