Matthew Perry’s Friends co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow are yet to publicly react to his sudden death. However, a source has said that the cast is ‘devastated’ by Matthew’s sudden passing. For the unversed, Matthew Perry died on October 28 in Los Angeles. He was found dead in the hot tub of his house on Saturday. It was reported that he died of apparent drowning. He was 54.
While fans have flooded the internet, sharing their fond memories of Matthew and revisiting moments from Friends that they loved the most, a source told Page Six that Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow are preparing a joint statement as a reaction to Matthew Perry’s death. The cast is said to be ‘reeling’ from Matthew’s sudden death.
“The cast is reeling from the loss of their brother, because that’s what Matty was — their brother,” a source told the international outlet. “It’s just devastating,” the insider said before adding, “The entire cast are close, they will be devastated, because they were together through the best of times and worst of times. And when Matty was sick, they protected him, they looked him after him fiercely.”
While we wait for Jennifer, Courteney, David, Matt and Lisa to react, the makes of Friends issued a statement shortly after Matthew’s death and remembered the talented actor. “We are devastated to learn of Matthew Perry’s passing. He was a true gift to us all. Our heart goes out to his family, loved ones, and all of his fans,” the show’s official social media account wrote while sharing Matthew’s photo.
Matthew’s family also issued a statement. In a statement to People, the family said, “We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend.” They added, “You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love.”
