Many viewers are expressing their frustration over the addition of butter to the tea.
Ever wondered what happens when you mix tea with a touch of high-end extravagance? Look no further than Amritsar, where a tea vendor is creating a buzz. This vendor, who operates from a bustling lane in Amritsar, is serving up a concoction that has people talking. He is delighting customers with a drink that combines almonds and rose petals in a way that might make tea connoisseurs raise an eyebrow. Food vlogger Sukrit Jain shared a video of this tea shop on Instagram, and it has been spreading faster than you can say “chai.”
The clip shows the vendor preparing the special tea, using a blend of ingredients including milk tea, powdered almonds, rose petals, cardamom and butter. Each glass of this special tea is priced at Rs 100, according to the vendor in the video.
The post’s caption read, “Amritsar ke sabse mehangi chai. Vo bhi 100rs ke ek glass baap re baap (Amritsar’s most expensive tea, Rs 100 for just one glass).”
In the video, the tea seller begins by boiling milk with cardamom, tea leaves and rose petals in a vessel. While crushing a few almonds, he heats some butter, adds the crushed almond powder to it, and then combines this with the previously prepared milk mixture. The drink is then served in a large glass cup.

The video instantly went viral and drawing various reactions from people. Many joked about the addition of butter, while others refused to accept the drink as tea.
One user wrote, “100 RS ki chai without chai powder,” while another commented, “He forgot to add mutton masala and curd.”
“It was fine till the almonds, rose petals, and cardamom but not the butter. Butter is used in coffee, not tea,” read comment.
A user said, “Ask him to sell tea and badam shakes separately, he will have more customers.”
“This is tea or sheer kurma?” one joked.
The internet was far from impressed with this new experiment on their beloved cup of “chai.” However, this is not the only odd experiment that social media users have come across. Earlier, in July, a video showing a tea recipe made with Pepsi instead of milk left many people disgusted. In what initially appeared as a normal video for tea lovers, things took a turn for the worse when the vendor added the soda drink to the mixture of milk and tea.
Frustrated users lashed out at the extent of experimentation. One joked, “99 missed calls from toilet,” while another commented, “He is just creating new poison, don’t panic.” A third user wrote, “The doubt is whether the people who drank that are alive.”
So, what do you think of these unconventional tea experiments? Intriguing, or would you prefer to stick with traditional brews?
