Sauber will operate under the name for the next two season before undergoing another rebranding.
Formula 1 team Sauber have announced they will run under a new name for the next two seasons. The Swiss team will be known as Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber from 2024 onwards before the arrival of Audi.
Sauber has always been about innovation, breaking the mould and defying convention,” Sauber Motorsport Team Representative Alessandro Alunni Bravi said.
“The partnership with Kick.com is the latest and boldest display of the philosophy that drives us. Kick.com is redefining the way live streaming is done and they will adopt the same disruptive approach in the world of Formula 1. With Kick.com, our goal is to make the next step in finding new and innovative ways to get closer to our fans,” he added.
The development comes after Alfa Romeo’s exit at the end of the 2023 campaign.
Streaming platform Kick.com has acquired the naming rights for Sauber’s 2024 chassis which will be known as Kick Sauber C44.
“We are thrilled to take our collaboration to an unparalleled magnitude, backed by our knowledge of the motorsport culture, and our passion for cutting-edge technology. Exceptionally, this universally popular sport, aligns perfectly with our product and what we are building at Kick.com,” Kick co-founder Bijan Tehrani said.
Sauber are the second team after Aston Martin to have announced name change.
Aston Martin will be known as Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 Team after announcing a five-year extension with the Saudi Arabian oil company.
Sauber finished ninth in the constructors’ championship in 2023 which was three lower than what they managed las year.
Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu will continue to partner at the outfit.
