Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3 has become one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. Released on November 12, the film has already crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in India in just five days.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film lost out on a major chunk of business due to ICC Men’s World Cup Final match that had the nation in its grip. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, “Tiger3 lost out on a major chunk of biz due to #INDvsAUS match… The biz, post noon, got massively dented for this reason… [Week 2] Fri 13 cr, Sat 18.25 cr, Sun 10.25 cr. Total: ₹ 224.50 cr. #India biz. #Hindi version. #Boxoffice #Tiger3 [#Tamil + #Telugu; Week 2] Fri 25 lacs, Sat 50 lacs, Sun 25 lacs. Total: ₹ 6.25 cr.” The total now stands at Rs 224.50 lakh.
As per the industry tracker Sacnilk, Tiger 3 earned Rs 17 crores in India on Saturday (November 18). With this, the total collection of the movie in India stands at Rs 217.90 crores. The film has already crossed the Rs 300 crore mark at the global box office.
Tiger 3 opened at the box office with Rs 44.50 crore on November 12. The film not only became the highest Diwali opening for Salman Khan but also the superstar’s highest opening ever. The film then earned Rs 59.25 crore on its second day followed by Rs 44 and Rs 21 crore on day three and four respectively.
Recently, Salman Khan also shared that he is overwhelmed with the response Tiger 3 is getting from the audience. “I’m delighted with the response from the audience and fans for Tiger 3! They have given the film a brilliant start and I’m happy that the third part of this franchise is also scripting a success story. Tiger is a franchise that is close to my heart. So, to see it get more and more love film after film is really special. I hope the film continues to entertain audiences worldwide,” he said.
